Loupe uses your footage for one thing: cutting your scenes. This page says what we keep, who helps us run Loupe, and how long things stay.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address, your account's name, your team's emails and roles, and when you signed in.
- Your scenes: the footage, sound, scripts and LUTs you upload; what Loupe makes from them (proxies, previews, transcripts, cuts, timelines, final files); and the notes you give Loupe.
- Sharing: for each share link, the names and notes viewers leave.
- Payments: what you bought and when. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
- In your browser: a sign-in cookie, and a few settings kept on your device (subtitles on or off, your name on share links). No ads, no tracking across other sites.
Who helps us run Loupe
We send your material to these services only to do the work described, and never for advertising.
| Service | What it does for Loupe | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Backblaze | Stores your footage and everything made from it (US) | Your uploaded files and Loupe's files |
| Supabase | Database and sign-in (US) | Account details, scene details, notes |
| Vercel | Runs the website, and counts page visits without cookies | Your requests to the site |
| Railway | Runs the computers that make proxies, cuts and final files | Your footage while it's processed |
| fal | Runs the AI models below for us (some through OpenRouter, which passes requests to their makers) | What each model needs, while it's processed |
| OpenAI Whisper (open model, run by fal) | Turns speech into text | Your takes' sound |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Reads the script and your notes, looks at stills of the takes | Script lines, transcripts, notes, stills |
| Google (Gemini) | Judges how each take is performed; makes establishing shots when you ask | Small copies of your takes; stills |
| ElevenLabs | Isolates voices; makes ambience and music when you ask | Your takes' sound; text descriptions |
| ByteDance (Seedance) | Animates an establishing shot when you ask | A still image |
| Topaz Labs | Makes a final file 4K when you ask | The final file |
| Stripe | Takes payments; seller of record | Your email and payment details |
| Resend | Sends Loupe's emails | Your email address |
We don't use your footage, sound or scripts to train AI models, ever.
After you sign up, we send you a few emails about getting started (for example, how to drop in your first scene, or a note from our founder when you subscribe), based on what you've done in Loupe. Each one has a link to stop them, and replies go to a real person. We don't send your email address to anyone else to market to you.
How long things stay
- Camera originals: removed 14 days after a scene's last activity if it was never exported, and 30, 60 or 90 days after export (30 on Starter or without a plan, 60 on Pro, 90 on Studio). We email you 7 days and 3 days before. Dropping the same footage again brings them back.
- Everything else (proxies, cuts, timelines, final files, scripts, notes): until you delete it or close your account.
- Payment records: as long as the law requires.
Your choices
You can download your scenes at any time, turn off any share link, and ask us to correct or delete your data, or to close your account, by writing to hi@editloupe.com. We'll do it within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Your files are stored privately and encrypted. Our services sign in with keys that only reach Loupe's own data, and file downloads use links that expire within hours.
